Michael Prado was killed in a late-night traffic collision in Bridgeview after the Mazda he was driving struck the rear of a Dodge Durango stopped at a red light, according to information attributed to local police.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 1:40 a.m. Monday, October 19, in the 8800 block of South Harlem Avenue. Prado was reportedly traveling northbound alone in a black Mazda when his vehicle collided with the rear of the stopped SUV.
Bridgeview police said Prado was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities responded to investigate the circumstances of the collision, and the medical examiner was notified following the fatal incident.
Two occupants of the Dodge Durango were transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for medical treatment. Both were reported to be in stable condition following the crash.
Police also notified the SMART team as part of the response. Prado’s family later arrived at the police station, where officers informed them of his death.
