Reports of a shooting at Parkdale High School have raised concerns about student safety and security. However, I could not verify reports of a new shooting at the school on October 20, 2026. It is important to distinguish any new incident from previously reported violence at the school.
Parkdale High School, located in Riverdale, Maryland, was the scene of a serious student stabbing on December 18, 2025. The incident prompted a school lockdown and a police investigation. News reports identified the incident as a stabbing, not a shooting.
Previous violence at Parkdale High School
The December 2025 stabbing involved one student being injured and another student being taken into custody, according to local news reports. School officials said the campus lockdown was lifted after authorities determined the school was secure. The incident prompted renewed attention to school safety and the prevention of violence among students.
As of October 20, 2026, I have not found reliable confirmation of a new shooting at Parkdale High School. The number of people injured, whether anyone was arrested in connection with a new incident, and whether the school has issued an emergency alert remain unverified.
Anyone hearing reports of an active emergency should follow instructions from local law enforcement and official school district announcements.
